The Reason for Christmas

Okay, I definitely 'messed' with this picture. ;) I hope you like the outcome...

Slow Shutter on a Pool Shot

Popping that cue ball up into the air! You can see the path and speed of each ball by the amount of blurring each has. :)

More Snow...

Here's another photo of a snowflake... (I'm also trying out a new method of posting photos... hope this works...)

Snowflakes... Beautiful Snowflakes!!

The intricacy of snowflakes is completely fascinating!! If it weren't for the cold that necessarily accompanies them, I'd HIGHLY recommend you all spending more time studying them. :P (Btw, these snowflakes were TINY in person... the pictures are very cropped.)

Layers

Branches in the foreground, then one side of the ruins of the Immaculata, then the other, then more trees, then the dorm buildings, and a tree showing even behind that! :) It lends some depth to the picture...

I'm at a Loss...

....sorry..... it's too late at night for me to think of anything original for the title for this post! The only thing that comes to mind is "Another Sunset" but that's boring. ;) Here's the picture, anyway. Hopefully it makes up for the lack of ingenuity in naming the entry. :P

Home Sweet Home

Aaaahhh. :) I can smell the wood fire from here. *sigh* ;)

Dark Day

Yesterday, up at the school, the sky looked pretty ominous... quite cool. ;)

Time Exposure

Looking at some of Will's awesome photos made me decide to try some stuff of my own. ;) This one is a 15-second exposure of a car coming up 2nd Street (and another driving in the cemetery).

Out of the Archives...

I've posted a couple of sunset pictures recently, but looking back through my photo archives ;) I found some pictures of this spectacular sunrise!!!!! (Nothing has been done to this picture. I promise!!) .......can you say "breath-taking"?!?!?

Hard at Work :P

Doing one of the things I love best... an appropriate picture for this blog. ;) Thanks to Mom for the photo! (Recognize that sunset?? :D)

So Fiery

What a fantastic, smoldering sunset this evening!! (Thanks to Rose and my camera for the picture. ;))

Copper Wheat

The sunset this evening was beautiful - and we made a special trip out just to photograph it. :) The wheat was so pretty, catching the sunlight, and the headstones in the Jesuit cemetery were all reflecting the evening sun so warmly. (Click on it to see it larger... note the road in the right of the picture... I like the way it seems to lead to the horizon... and beyond.)

Spooky! :P

Actually, I think it looks rather cozy. :)

RR Crossing

I don't know exactly what to caption this series of pictures... How about....
A peanut sat on a railroad track,
His heart was all a-flutter!
Down came a train and...

Toot! Toot! --
Peanut butter.
:D

Kansas River

Definitely a Kansas-sort of beauty (if it qualifies for beauty!!), but I like the amount of blue that's in the picture.

More Fun with Pictures

I don't know if I actually 'ruined' this picture by messing with it or not, but here 'tis anyhow! :)

Another Enhanced Sky

A tad bit more realistic-looking this time. ;)

Brilliance in the Evening Sky

It completely looks like a painting, doesn't it?!?! Some kind of Impressionistic something, eh? (I'm not too great at art - can't you tell? :P - but that's what it reminds me of.) The only thing I did to this picture which I just snapped this evening was click "enhance" in iPhoto. That's it!
....November sundown.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

......Here's the "before" picture: Rather pathetic, huh? (At least, after the above!) *embarrassed* ...and ALL I did was click one little button. Nothing fancy like Photoshop...

Makers of Music

Can you tell what it's a picture of? (The title of the post oughta be a hint, in case it's not obvious.)

Now you see her.... Now you don't.

More Proportionality

I thought this was kinda neat. The bases of the columns look so big in the foreground, compared to the flower pot in the distance.

More Shadows

This just fascinates me, because the shadows are so distinct and dark.... not shadowy at all. ;) Wheeeeee!!! .....just a slight bit of vertigo looking at this picture. ;)

Nosey

Wow. Yeah. 8ball got pretty inquisitive about that black box Rose was holding. ;) Talk about "in your face!"

Inspiration

I don't know about the rest of you, but I find it very inspiring to see someone doing a pilgrimage barefoot. We had one such pilgrim in our chapter for 7 miles!!

500 HITS

Today marks 500 hits!!! :)

Thank you, everyone in my small fan club, for checking back and visiting the blog! I think I ought to give special thanks to Christa who has always been the most supportive and enthusiastic about this blog, but also to my family who patiently tolerates my photographic tendencies. :D Thank you, all!!!!!!

Shadow Work

In the afternoon sun~

I have no words...

...for the flood of memories this picture brings back. So MANY days of my life, I walked up that sidewalk and back down again.

Autumn

The leaving are turning. And the weather is beautiful.
